    Default Hexie measurement

I'd like to order some hexie plastic templates, but I'm not sure how they are sized. Do you measure the length of one side, or the distance across the middle - from corner to corner? I want to use them on the hundreds of 2-inch
    scrappy squares that I've collected.

    Hi psumon,

I don't know the answer, but I am really interested as to how a hexigons is measured too, so I will keep an eye on this thread. Thanks for asking the question.

I measure one side....as PaperPieces.com does.....that's were I get my acrylic templates and papers.......but I do know that others have shown dimension across inside from point to point too.

yup, one side gets measured and the distance is your size. 3/4" or 1"
I'm working on a 1"now and a 2" 60 degree star. I cut my own pieces for this one.
have fun with it. show us your work so far.

I think it depends on who makes the template. I would check out the manufacturer's website for info or ask the people you are ordering from how to get the size you want.

It is the measurement of one side. My hex in this quilt top is 1" which is a very common size. I think you will need to use the 3/4" hex size.

Wow! That is a beautiful quilt! I'm making Hexy Christmas ornaments right now. Truly addictive.
