Hexie stitching

Hexie stitching
Good Morning everyone. Got a question for you hexie lovers. When you slipstitch the hexies together do you use one singe thread or a double? I'm using a single Bottomline poly thread for slip stitching them together. Was wondering if the single thread was strong enough. Opinions welcome!!

Yes, I too use the hand quilting thread, single. Read that as a recommendation somewhere...also a hint half way thru do a single knot stitch and also at corners, in case, down the road thru usage, a thread breaks..stops the unraveling..but that I believe up is a hint for all handpiecing

If you are talking about sewing each individual hexie together with a running stitch, I use one thread. If you are using the hexies that you sort of blind stitch together, I'd use one thread for that also.

I use single Bottomline poly thread and it works great! The thread is so thin it "melts" into the fabric but is a nice strong thread. I have also used a single srand of silk thread to sew hexies together and it works well too.

Ok, guess I'm good to go. I am doing the hexie diamonds using modern fabrics and black and white paths. My hexie's are 3/4 inch on the side. Thank you for all the imput and happy hexing everyone.
