Hi from NW GA.

I'm new to quilting and 'blogging'. I have a question for everyone here. I belong to a guild and the opinions are mixed. Should you always wash your fabric before you start? Our guild have some members that wash their fabric as soon as they come home from buying it. Thank You! :?:

Welcome from middle GA.
The question about prewashing your fabric comes up often. By using the search button at the top of the page you can look for subjects that have been discussed before. Here are the search results for you about washing your fabric.

Welcome, I lived in the Dalton area for over 25 years. NW Georgia, Trenton? Some people wash fabric so it won't fade or bleed on the final project. Also, some fabrics may shrink. To wash or not to wash, that is the question!

I never pre-wash. Part of my reason is laziness, and part is sometimes I want to get right at it and can't wait. Also I do not feel the need to clean something that is not dirty.
