When I'm cutting a pattern that has lots of cuts, I copy the fabric cutting guide (instructions) and use the copy as a guide. Every time I make a cut, I check off that line. It's sure helped this poor old mind remember what the heck I've done....especially if I get interrupted!!!!

on edit: from reading below it reminded me. I always write which fabric for each cut. If I have 3 colors of fabric, I decide which ones get which cuts. Especially if you're changing out the colors...it's just too easy to get mixed up.

    Happy quilting!

I even make a spreadsheet on the computer for the cutting and on the word processor, I rewrite the instructions in a step-by-step method that makes sense to me.

Works for me! And, janquiltz, especially for the Pam Bono's!

I always do this too. I like to keep my patterns as original as possible. The price we pay for them. I like them to be nice awhile.
