    Hi there,

I have never used Hobbs 80/20 but was thinking of buying a big roll of it online. Do you use it? Where do you buy yours? and of course best price shipping etc.. Much obliged!

I have used it a lot. Unfortunately, none of the stores around here carry it anymore. So, I guess I will have to order it online. Really haven't priced them on line yet so can't help you with price. I'll be watching this thread too.

I like it and only the quilt shops around here sell it. I have used it in my most special gift quilts and have not ever been disappointed.

It's been my favorite batting for 10 years. I like the softness of the quilt when it is finished

It a very good quality batting. I have used it off and on depending on the quilt for years.
JoAnn's used to carry it , but stopped more than a few years ago. I don't find any of the Hobbs products at mine. Not sure if that's a Corp decision, but I keep looking for it at JoAnn's .. no such luck at mine.

hobbs has been making batts a very long time...they are very nice to work with-
if purchasing where it will have to be shipped try to find free shipping!
when i ordered my warm & natural bolt- i did it with a 40% coupon and free shipping available after spending $150---the batting was a bit over $200 so Yea--no shipping charges!
i've not seen hobbs available by the bolt---but that is cool if you can get it.
one way to save shipping also is to go to your lqs---and ask if they would order it for you with their next order- some will- some won't - never hurts to ask-
my lqs will order things for me when it is something they do not normally carry-but is available through their distributor

I use it when I want that old fashioned look after washing as it shrinks(up to 3%). It has to be close quilted though, no less than 4" apart. If I don't want shrinkage, ie on a wall hanging or more contemporary design or if I don't want to quilt so close, I use a Quilter's Dream batting - either Poly Select or Blend - the latter being my favourite.

I only got to use it once, someone handed me down a crib size piece she wasnt going to use, and I LOVED it. I usually just by poly, what I can afford@
