    Default Hobbs fusible batting

Anyone have trouble getting this batting unfolded? I had to pull it apart and that was a mistake. The batting rippled and waved. There was no way I could smooth out and make it lay flat. I couldn't use it at all.

I'm so sorry you had so much trouble with this batting. I have not used a full sized piece, only the 24" squares that they sell at the Houston show. I really like Hobbs, though, good quality. I would call them and let them know your trouble, and they might reimburse you. Hope so, Gina

Sounds like it was in a hot and humid area at one time, in shipping or storage at fabric shop. I've never had any trouble with fusible batting. I'd take it back to the fabric shop.

I bought a queen size and after hearing what a friend had to say about her experience, I am afraid to tackle it. Maybe with my next quilt.

Never had a problem with the bigger piece. Of course it is rather dry, though very hot, down here. I use it for purses and such.

I used the Hobbs fusible a lot when I lived in TX. with no problems.
If you can't return what you bought, try writing to Hobbs in Waco, TX about the problem. They have always been quite customer responsive.

I only had that trouble once. almost got the whole thing unrolled and unstuck and then got two holes in it. I took it back to Hobby Lobby and they wouldn't refund or replace. They said their items are not old. So I emailed Hobbs heirloom and they later sent me two rolls. So I ended up happy after all. you might try that. Good luck.

I buy the queen size and unroll it first. I then separate the layers across a length at a time. I have never had any trouble with it and I have used a about 20 batts? I don't know where you live but if it got super hot in the package, it might fuse it together. If that happened, I would take it with my receipt back to where I bought it or contact the Hobbs company.

It sure was stuck together. There was no way I could unfold it without pulling it apart. There were seam joining lines in the batting once I got it spread out. The ripples seem to be in sections and along the edges. I can cut it and use it for small projects so it won't go to waste. I have another package of it and if it is stuck I'll send an email to Hobbs.

I left mine with the Hobby Lobby clerk. I told her it was no use to me!! still, it all worked out. and I've not encountered that problem again.
