I love HL and I shop there often for many things, including fabric. Their selection of certain colors could use some improvement, but overall, I am very happy with the quality and the prices. Great staff in the sewing department too (where I go).

I also like HL. They seem to have a good selection of fabric but I wish they would change the design line oftener.

NEWS FLASH- HL is now carrying 108" wide backing fabric!!!!!!!!! Price is $12 but 40% off coupon can be used on entire cut!!!!!

I did not have any in Maryland and was so pleased to have them in Arizona. The store is always so clean and tidy unlike the Joannes here. I do lots of charity quilts and the prices there are good.

They must vary considerably store to store, because my Hobby Lobby doesn't have a good selection of fabric. It's in the same parking lot as my favorite LQS, and I don't even bother stopping at HL.

HB stocks craft and quilting fabric just like Walmart and JoAnns. You have to read the bolt ends unless you can know by feel. All HB stores I've been to the quilting fabric is on one wall of shelves, the floor fabric is usually a mixture of sewing/craft/quilting fabric.

The really neat thing is that if you tell the person who is cutting your fabric that you would like to use your coupon on one of the fabics, they will change the sale price to the regular price and you will get 40% off that fabric. So much nicer service then the fabric chain stores.

When I need Kona cotton, I always check Hobby Lobby first. I ask the sales clerk to charge me the regular price. By doing that, I get 40% off rather than 30%. Also, I check the end of the bolt to be sure I am getting Kona cotton. While I seldom purchase other fabric from them, I do like Hobby Lobby for sewing notions. I am very glad we have a Hobby Lobby here.

I like Hobby Lobby but my store doesn't seem to change their inventory very often so I go about once a month to see if there is anything new (and check the remnant bin!)
I second that. I have picked up many great Alexander Henry's and R.Kaufman fabs there. You just have to look carefully and feel everything. It's worth the time for the savings!

I love my HL! Quilting fabric is always 30%off but (unlike Joann's) they will take 40% off the regular price if you have the 40% off coupon. They will also sell magazines and quilt books using the 40% off coupon. I have never had a problem with their fabrics and I am picky! I do check the weave, etc. and only buy what feels good to me.
