    RedGarnet222,
I don't think it's cheap or cheesy at all. In my family it's all about the perfect gift for the recipient, not about where it comes from or how much it costs. The perfect gift from a thrift store is still the perfect gift. My youngest DD just moved into her own first house after living with her sister for a year and she knows her Christmas present from us is going to be a big box of kitchen stuff and linens, mostly from Goodwill and she couldn't be happier.

I don't think it is cheap either RedGarnet222. My sister and I were in a thrift store once and I saw a crocheted piece picked it up and it was a round tablecloths in a pineapple pattern and about 50+ inches across. I asked how much it was and found out it was like $3.00 or so, so grabbed it. Sister kept trying to get me to give it to her because she has large round glass top table. I wanted it because I had tried to crochet on of those many years ago and never got it larger that about 30 inches and I would rip it back to start over did that about five time and finally gave up.
Anyway, next Christmas I didn't know what to give her for Christmas and I gave the tablecloth. She was surprised and pleased.

Often Good Will has fabric on hangers with the sheets and such. I once bought 5 yards of a beautiful Hoffman batik for $4.
