Has anyone tried this and if so what did you think of the process? Here is a link to their website. http://www.hoopsisters.com/

Wait, don't give up on the idea too fast. While I have to admit that I have hated joining the blocks the way they instructed, goosetracks was the most enjoyable thing I have ever made on my embroidery machine. There were a lot of materials to get together at the start but I have lots of pieces left over and a wonderful collection of threads.
Thanks for sharing your pictures SheriR. You've inspired me to start another one but this time i'll just put a backing on and accept a plain boring back.

I did a small feathered star and it was probably the most expensive quilt I have ever made!. The embroidery thread alone was a big expense plus special rulers, their own expensive batting/stabilizer. etc. That being said I did learn a new trechnique so I have that experience.

I have done the Hoopsisters Goosetracks and Whole Earth project. I did them as a wall hanging as my machine can't do the larger blocks. The whole earth I did as a shop sample so I got a good deal on it. Some of the blocks on the whole earth have so much embroidery on them that one block used up more than one bobbin. I love them both. I joined them blocks as the instructions said. I also did one of the mystery quilts. It is almost complete laying in my UFO pile. All of the embroidery is finished I am adding borders to make it larger. I didn't want to put the bias tape on the back so I skipped the back piece as I embroidered and added a regular back to it and will stitch in the ditch. They are fun projects.

I bought a few of their patterns when they were just starting out. There were mistakes in them. Maybe they have learned to proof read more carefully now and/or issued corrections for the problems. I would check their website very carefully and ask a lot of questions before you purchase.

They have not improved their proof reading. They have not fixed the mistakes in goose tracks, one block is still off. The mystery quilt is a good deal. Only $89 and done over 6 weeks. It is doable and used about 4 yards of fabric, it makes a Great Wall hanging and does not feel like a life time commitment. Look for it next year around May.
