This is the best post EVER! I use Zots----those little sticky dots from the papercrafting section of the hobby store---for lots of things. In my sewing room, two of them on my ruler before cutting keep the ruler in place. In the rest of my house, one under the edge of a picture frame on the wall will keep it from ever going crooked, no matter how many times the kids slam the doors.

Fun! Learned about dryer fabric sheets. Used a CD to make yo yos before obtaining a yo yo maker. Use anything round for circles, tea cups and saucers etc.

Yes Mary, I do actually cut individual pieces with my shears. I use the sandpaper to trace around patterns. I make lots of scrap quilts so it's more practical for me. the thing that I use that hasn't been stated already is using soap slivers to mark quilting lines on dark material. really helps. Thanks for all the good tips.

WOW !!!! Thank you mpeters 1200 for asking this ?. I have really enjoyed all of everyones responses alot of good info here. I use one of those glass candle holder (glade) with the magnetic center to hold pins or clips etc.

I use old jelly roll pans (cookie sheets w/sides to put floppy items on top shelves, ie. applique' templates, a small project that had to be interrupted to fix something for DD, etc. I purchased a revolving kitchen tool holder; I keep it on my sewing table, upper right corner. It holds scissors, screw drivers, my magnifying glasses, pens, pencils, markers, back scratcher, magnetic extension gadgets, from DH, etc. It keeps many of those used often items close but out of the way. I haven't actually used this yet, but since I'm in the midst of redoing my sewing room....I asked my DH for a peg board, but he didn't think I'd be happy with it (pegs coming out, etc.)...he suggested just penny nails in the wall...my idea...cover a board (any size you want) with fabric, THEN put the nails in that...much prettier, and sill EXTREMELY useful...I'm thinking my tools, patterns, thangle packages, endless possibilities! :)

I still do. I have a piece of cardboard with sandpaper glued to it. When I need to trace anything I do it on that. Keeps fabricfrom shifting

I use this tip too. Here is a picture of what I am working on now. I did snip off the ends of the teeth just a bit because they were a tad too long.

Hi everyone i am new here ,but to using things from the kitchen i use the clear plastic containers that lettuce, grapes on other veg or fruits come in to keep my scraps in. It helps to keep me more organized .
