I think most of us have a quilt we would love to do but something is holding us back. It's fun to dream even if you never do the quilt.

I think its because we live in the age of the instant fix. We want it now, and don't want to work hard for it. I try to remind myself that it would be worth the work. The only thing that holds us back is ourselves. Its that spoiled rotten inner child! She needs a good talking too!.....LOL! I'm with you, it's fun to dream!

I wouldn't have a problem attempting it, but I think it's awfully busy. I'd probably leave out some of the elements here and there to calm it down.

No way. It makes my eyeballs hurt just looking at it. I'm not saying it isn't gorgeous just super busy and way out of my league and comfort zone.

Yep it is busy to the eye, its a 1790's vintage pattern you can find more info about it here http://estheraliu.blogspot.com/2013/...-marriage.html I can't help but love it and hope to someday make it, yeah right. For me it's not about the look as much as it is the talent and determination it takes to make such a quilt. Quilts in a day or week are nice, but what about that masterpiece and working outside the comfort zone? Gals we as quilters have become lazy with our rotary cutters and fusible webbing. I say I'd like to make it but you don't see me running to the stash with pattern in hand!....LOL! Heck I'm still working My Tweets Block of the month, it was supposed to take one year to finish, I'm in my second year.

I've been working on my 1/4" seam for 3 years. For now, if it's not easy, I have to pass.

with applique there's no 1/4 inch seam to worry about! It's a freedom you'll love.
