How can I fit this spool on my DSM?

Here's what works for me with cones and oversized spools. I put an eye screw in an empty spool of thread and put it on the pin. I then put the cone or oversized spool in a cup behind the machine and run the thread through the eye.
I find it works better than the cone holders with the high thread arm for me.

I tape an extra large safety pin to the back of my sewing machine, and thread it through the eye. It keeps it from getting drag. I just set the cone behind my machine, don't even put it in a mug. I find this works best for me.
