Maybe you could try some steam a seam and press it with the iron, or a roll of that stitch witchery or whatever it is called- it's about an inch wide. I think you have to press it also. If it is only that small, I think I would try something like either of the above and press it down and not worry about sewing it, since you cant get to it. You might be able to use the ladder stitch and remedy the situation.
These are just things I would try, don't know if they will work or not.

I like this best too. If there is no gap in the fabric and you just need to finish stitching the seam. If there is a large gap which needs to be covered then applique with matching fabric and as small as possible or a flower, butterfly, heart etc.

No problem! Sounds like the perfect place to put your label!! Sew one edge of it under your binding and applique the other 3 sides to cover the area :)

I have a tube of glue stuff that is like a good place to use this on what you describe. I used it to repair a seam on a wedding dress. Check your local fabric store for this type of thing.
