I need to know how to tell if my flannel
fabric is 100% cotton or not. I want to make a bed warmer
that can be heated in the microwave.

This site tells how to tell the fabric content by a burn test:

Most flannel is 100% cotton. You can check the bolt when you shop, but I don't recall seeing blends in printed flannel, only in woven plaids.
