Hubby helps me do the laundry. He puts it all in plastic baskets and goes to the laundromat. One day, we had tons of dirty clothes, so off he went. Problem was when he was done washing all our clothes, he came back home, leaving behind a few washers with our clothes in there. I didn't know about this, but as days went by, i started missing my favorite jeans, my favorite shrug, etc. Then i could not find the fitted bedsheets. It was then that I realized what had happened, but by then several
days had lapsed and it was too late to go back to the laundromat to look for our missing stuff. In still miss all the things he lost.

Well, here's a different twist to that story. When I first starting quilting I made a quilt that drove me crazy. I'm a perfectionist and none of the corners or points matched. So I put it in a bag and threw it away. Well, my husband found it and brought it back. (He liked it, by the way._) So here I had it again, didn't know what to do. Well, not only did I throw it away once, I threw it away again. My husband found it again and brought it back. I happened to mention this to a friend one evening when we went to dinner. She said, did you ever hear of the pointless wonder. I said no, so she showed me. We ripped it apart and cut all the corners off a little. Put it back together and I could look at it and actually like it. It is on our bed in the trailer and everyone likes it. (My secret.) ;)

I had this happen to 2 quilt tops, backings and batting. A lady was taking them to her mom to LA for me. Had it all in a black trash bag and had some kid detail her truck. Well my stuff got tossed. Gone...poof...never to be compensated for or anything. WHat really made me sick was that they were made from flannels that we had picked up across the US on a trip we took. I made all 4 of our kids quilts and these 2 lost tops & backings were from the scraps, meant for me & my DH. Just made me sick and then mad. Sorry this happened to you & I hope you find your things.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. One of my clients put 6 different quilt tops and their backings and battings into garbage bags and set them by the door to load in the car and bring to me. Later, she told her husband to take the garbage out. The next afternoon, after the garbage was picked up, she went to load the car and the quilts were gone. Her husband had put them out with the garbage!!!

I have with other things. Do not put stuff in trash bags. You can buy clear plastic trash bags and I use those now for items I want to put in a plastic bag.

You probably put it somewhere else and was thinking of something else when you did it! How many times have we all done that? I am sure it will turn up.
A few years ago, my dh and I was in MO and when we came home I couldn't find my favorite pajamas, I was just sick. I called the hotel and nogo. I couldn't beleive I did that, I tore my house apart looking for them for weeks. They were my favorite! Finally resigned myself to the fact that I lost them and left them at the hotel. A year later I was in my attic digging through a old trunk of clothes and there they were! How in the world did they get there? :) Point learned here though, use clear bags for this type of thing.

Oh, please tell us you've found it! I'm so hoping you didn't inadvertently throw it out. Bless your heart. I hurt for you.
