    this is how i frequently do my piano key borders. i like miters too if the 'keys' are wide. i haven't placed a block in the corners ..never thought of it ..but examples shown in this thread i really like! ...so i will try corner blocks next time too

    I did a search for "let there be music whistler studios" and found different pieces of the fabric at different stores. You might have to order from 3 or 4 different stores, but I think you can get all the fabric in the quilt online.

    I think this is the version Tartan described - if I don't use a block/square in the corner, I do it this way - kind of a reverse log cabin:
