Thanks everyone for providing info on this border. Unfortunately, I won't get to work on it today, but I at least have a starting place for my next session with this quilt.

I just want to say that unless you adjust your triangle sizes a little, you will lose your points on the triangles unless that is your aim. The triangle pieces should be big enough to overlap 1/4” from each edge to attach it, and to bind it. Did I make that clear? If not some one say it better for me?

When I make a pieced border I have done the math and then it sometimes comes out the wrong size anyway. I usually just pick a size of triangles I like and make a border strip that will be long enough to work. I then add a narrow solid border between the quilt and my pieced border to make it work.

This was my thought exactly. I looked through all the responses and didn't find this until Madamekelly in post no. 22. You need that quarter inch overlap of the two seams for the seam allowance or you will lose all your points.

Thanks for the info. I am still working on that too. This was my first attempt and I used scraps. I need to line the triangles up better when I start sewing.
