Peckish, this is beautiful... yes for a pattern like this the ruler is a must. I did a table runner... homemade ruler was fine for me... don't know if I would use it very often... so many quilts..... so little time.... thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt... love what you did with the fabric

Much as I am not a fan of specialty rulers, for some things it does work better.

I saw two wedge rulers available - a 9 degree and a 10 degree -

The 9 degree one would take 40 wedges to make a 360 degree circle (the only circles I am aware of are 360 degree ones - so the 360 degree statement is probably redundant)

The 10 degree one would take 36 wedges to make a circle.

One could probably fold a circle and get fairly close accuracy with anything that divided by only 2

1/2 circle = 180 degrees
1/4 = 90
1/8 = 45
1/16 = 22.5
1/32 = 11.25 degrees

Paper Princess is correct - - - For me - with the tools I have available, I do not think I would get the accuracy needed for the smaller degree wedges if I tried to make one "at home."

Google 15 or 60 or 5 degree angle pattern and see what you get. Call a glass company in Odessa or Midland or San Angelo or whatever else you are near and tell them what you need cut out of Plexiglass, get a price and see if they can cut it for you from their templates. If they can't, send them the pattern you got from the Internet. But in the long run, you are probably better off to go to Amazon.com and buy from there. It is likely to be more exact. froggyintexas
