I am making a quilt for a friend. She picked out a lap size of 72" and wants me to make it into a king size. Does anyone know how I change the size?

the easiest way is to just make more blocks to bring it up to the size you need. The other way is to do some math and make the current blocks large enough to come up to the king size you want....I'd go for adding more blocks!

You can add more blocks or put on your math hat and make each block bigger.

Funny, we came up with the same answer at the same time.

I like the idea of adding more blocks. I guess I could get close and add some borders. Does anyone know the size of a king quilt.

I suggest having them measure their mattress, thicknesses vary, as well as lengths. Do they want it to wrap around the pillows? How much of a drop do they want? :D:D:D

Seems like it might depend a little on which pattern you are going to make. Do you have a special pattern in mind?

Here is the pattern I need to make bigger. The measurements my friend gave me are 112in x 98in
    This quilt measures 72in x 72in

Linda this is a square quilt, you are wanting to make a rectangular quilt. You will need to add 26" to the width and 40" to the length.
The blocks are 10&1/2 (10" finished), so you can add 4 blocks to the length and it will measure 112"x82".
The prob is getting the width to 98 unless you can divide the blocks.
I would make the quilt 112"x112", it would be much easier.
