    After you sew that small pocket on - you could sew a larger pocket over it. The small pocket could be for a cell phone or keys.
    It doesn't look like it would hold much more than a stamp.

    I would use my zipper foot & sew the 3 sides. Beautiful bag. If you want a larger pocket stitch the small one on top of a larger pocket then top stitch the larger one to the bag.

    I would just stitch it on, as others have already said. top stitch close to the edge on the sides and bottom.

    It does look like a rather small pocket... remember, you can always make it a bigger pocket... do what looks and feels right to you.
