very interesting. I would think a queen or king quilt would be a challenge using this method.

    this is what I do

when all you have in the house is carpet.... one has to be creative!

I tape both backing and batting down (I make the batting larger than the backing) then I baste outwards with pins from the middle, smoothing out as I go...

I haven't tried this yet, but so many people have told me it works great. I'm going to ask the DH to get me a few pairs of boards of varied lengths, so I can do small and large quilts with them.

I love Sharon's videos. She has a lot of good tricks of the trade.

I was going to say the same thing ...tape it while you pin or baste it.....whatever works best for you. I tape mine on the table and go from there. Hard not to get no puckers but the more distance you have between quilting the less puckers. As you get better so will the smoothness..I'm with ya tho I hand quilt and only machine quilt small projects....Happy quilting

I also use the board method and nooo puckers! In fact I'm doing cross hatch on a quilt. The machine with the walking foot isn't working right. Last night I just used my 15-91 with 1/4" foot. No problems. No puckers!!!!! Whooping. Gooooo! Never heard of water dissolving thread!!!! Where do I buy it????

I think I have seen water-soluble thread sold at JoAnn's; not sure. I have purchased it online from places such as Superior Threads.
