I am in the process of making some lap quilts for xmas gifts for my husbands family and am looking for suggestions on how to label them. Pictures of the quilts to come.

I put quilt labels into the search button and there are a ton of topics on it.

Depending on how fancy you want to get (how much you want to pay) with your labels, there is someone here who embroiders them with a machine. She does a beautiful job, and they can be designed to go along with your quilt. I'll see if I can find out who, or if any one remembers who it is.

For most of my quilts I use plain muslin. I draw lines in black marker on a piece of freezer paper and iron it to the back of the label so I'll have lines to write my text on. When I'm done I peel the freezer paper off. I use Pigma pens to write with(the .5mm) and heat set with an iron set on cotton.

I label every quilt that I give away. The ones still here in the house have not received the privilege.

I ordered my first quilt label from a wonderful lady on the board. Her name is GailR and she makes amazing labels on her embroidery machine for a very good price. I usually put my labels on the lower right corner of the back.

A dear friend had some made for me that says: "An original by and my first and last name.
I would prefer not to put a label on them.
