Default How do you make the diamond quilt?

I saw a tutorial on youtube about making a quilt where you have 4 squares that are the same color and you put a piece of fabric between them and sew them together and when you open it up, you have a diamond in the middle surrounded by 4 squares. You can then tack down the diamond edges if you wish. I can't find the tute but was hoping someone knew where to find one on this block. I know I'm not explaining it correctly, but I hope someone can understand what I'm talking about and can direct me to a tutorial or to youtube. Thanks, Jeanne

It's called a 10-minute block. Here are 3 videos I found by Google search

One thing to note when you make this top - if you send it out to a longarmer for quilting, or quilt it yourself on your longarm or DSM, you will probably want to stitch down the edges of that center square so the foot won't catch on it. I can't remember if the videos tell you to do that or not.

The 10 minute block can have several nifty looks when finished. I wish though that people would not rename blocks that are already been invented by someone else. I saw this technique about 5 years ago and it was how to make a bow tie block in 3 easy steps.

People are so helpful on this board. Isn't it amazing that you can describe a pattern like this and a member helps you find it this quickly? Thanks to everyone for being so helpful.

tartan is totally correct...this method is available several places on the net (youtube is only one) and is called the 3D Bowtie... all she did was make it big....which anyone has the option to do to any block.... I have made many bed sized quilts with one large block for the entire top of the bed, adding sizing strips and borders to make it the right proportions.... and so have lots of other quilters... there's nothing new under the sun...

I made the 10 minute block and the center block was "puffy" - I thought that I did something wrong because the photos I've seen of the block don't look puffy. So, how do you tack them down? With a quick stitch? With glue?
