Default How do you post a picture when replying to a post?

I notice a lot less postings with the new board.
Im begining to see why. It takes a computer guru to figure out the simple things that used to be so easy.
I have been trying to post a picture in a reply but all I get is lots of weird options that dont make sence.
The little quilting group I belong to has quit the board because it is too complicated but Im determined to stick it out.
So many posts are being deleted and sent into limbo somewhere. I spend so much time on the board that I only surf the main board so it is disapointing to see so many posts getting moved elsewhere and I wont take the time to go looking for them.
I wish the keepers of the board would post instructions on doing the simple things that used to be so easy.

    when you want to reply to a thread;
click on Go Advanced - lower right
    a new window opens
    post your info
    then to add your picture scroll down to;
    Manage Attachments - click
    another window opens
at the top under 'from your computer'
click on browse and find your picture
    then click on upload.
then you will click on click on submit reply

tada you have just added your lovely picture

yes, we're all in the same messy little boat, ... anyway to post in a reply....
type your msg, but instead of Post Quick Reply, choose 'Go Advanced' below this box on a blue button...
then the paperclip symbol will let you choose a picture from your computer...
then you have to hit Upload and it will take a minute or two but then the name of the pic will turn up on the bottom of the little 'attachments' screen in blue.... that tells you it is attached...
you can choose more than one....you just have to upload them seperately and then Send them all at once....that, too, takes a few minutes but then it works.

Okay, now for the secondary complication...the size of the pic...
when you click on your picture, it will show you how many pixels are in the pic.....
if it is over a 1000 either way, i can't get them to load...
so if it is over a 1000, then double click on the pic and it will open your image editor....
look on the top and there will be either a tab that says "edit" or "resize"....
click on resize if it's there....
click on edit if it's not...then you should see "resize" inside ...
now click on resize and it will give you an opportunity to change the size by defining the percentage....
so if it is 2000 x 1244....then type in 50% and hit save (or change, depending on your software).... the new numbers will come up and should be like 1000 x 622.... that will load.
Now click on File Save As and it will save in the new size.
go BACK to the quilting board screen and choose that file name again...it will show the size when you do...be sure to check...
i have just begun to check all my pix before i start the whole thing but you can do it in order if you can open more than one tab on your screen browser.
good luck and i know this sounds like a lot of steps but it does work...

I'm one that's not in the "same messy boat", I'm in my own lil' boat just sailing along....love the new board and agree, there has been so much help posted by both the great admins and great members. I understand that not all of us are on the same level when it comes to "computer geekness", but there are those of us that truly want ALL members to enjoy the board, and have bent over backwards to help.

My boat is cruising next to yours! Slowly but surly more and more 'members' are understanding the board.

Posting pictures is one of the main things that quilters do.
They have made it a hassel with to many steps so wont be posting pictures much.
Now I have to learn how to cut and paste to print out the instructions
    OK I did it.
    Thats my great granddaughter.
Thanks so much for the help.
