How do you sort and store your scraps
#52
For small stuff, I keep mine in those see-thru plastic boxes that contained cherries, strawberries, lettuce, etc. I can see the colors through the container. For bigger scraps, I put those in drawers by color. Do whatever works for you.

When I am in the mood I go thru my scraps and cut them into 1 1/2,2 1/2,3 1/2,4 1/2 and 5 1/2 inch strips, length dosnt matter. Then make strips that equal 6 1/2 inchs. Many combos to choose from. Then cut into same sizes as before and combine to make 6 1/2 squares.Combine to make a 12 1/2 inch block. This was a video from Sewing with Nancy that is no longer available except on QNNTV. It is called Scrap Happy Patchwork.
It is so much fun to make a quilt this way. I turned my quilting group on to it and they love it.

If you look at her previous pages, she had a huge mess to organize and did a great job on page 9

I have about a dozen buckets that the cat litter came in.. I do by size, starting with 1 1/2 inche and up from there, to about 6 inch size.......when the bucket starts getting full, I know its time to do a scrap quilt using that size blocks. These buckets were free, of course (the best way to get and use something).
