I hang my cutting mat using a trouser/skirt coat hanger. I hang it on the wall of my room. When I need to I hang some white flannel from two of these hangers to create a temporary design wall.

I have a slotted wooden block for my rulers, cutting mats are stores in a metal mat stand. I have also seen some carpet on a wall and small velco dots on the underside of the rulers and this sticks them up on the wall.

For my rulers I use a metal record rack. I had several from when I had tons of records (before cds).
I lay my mats flat on the floor under my sewing table.

You can buy white peg board at home improvement stores also. Then you don't have to paint it and get paint in the holes.

Frame was put on my my hubby, using left over maple from another recent home project.

Please - help yourself to the chocolate

Mine are on peg board. My husband cut a piece about 9 X 36 and put a trim piece around it. I painted it the wall colour and it works perfectly.

I use pegboard, I'm afraid mine isn't prettied up though.
There's more pictures of my sewing space here if you're interested in more ideas... nothing fancy though.

I hang my rulers inside the closet from nails. They are all lined up along the side wall - easy to get at and I can close the door and no one sees them. I store my mats flat against the wall between the wall and the desk so it is held flat.
