We have a Hobby Lobby and a Hancocks in the same strip mall-about 200ft apart. I always go in HL first and then over to Hancocks because they pretty much have sales at the same time but Hancocks sometimes has 40% off whereas HL discount never goes above 30% (unless it is a seasonal one that has passed its season and then it is 50% off - not many of these). They do have some nice fabric, and then there are the ones you don't want to go near. I have learned this by experience. Wal Mart is across the street and I don't like their pre-cuts they carry now at all! I am not an experienced quilter - still learning the basics - so I prefer to use less expensive fabric until I get better.

I purchased a kit in Florida last year and liked it very much. Don't have a Hobby Lobby here though.

A LA told me once that she graded fabric this way.....LQS, Hobby Lobby, Hancock then Jo Ann's. I have found some great buys at Hobby Lobby. Just feel the fabric. You can tell.

In our stores here, the quality & selection is not as good as it USED to be a few years ago ... they used to have a LOT of Northcott, Alexander Henry & other designer fabrics and those were excellent. They were as good as LQS. Now it seems to be mostly mid-quality. They do have good Kona Cotton solids. They are sorely lacking in notions and books, very little selection. Maybe other HL are better than ours ??

Go to their website. Most weeks they have a 40% off coupon!

I have shopped at Hobby Lobby quite a bit and have yet to get a piece of "bad fabric" from them. They do have quite a good selection of fabrics. Prices not too bad either.

I buy most of my fabric at Hobby Lobby and never shop at JoAnn's anymore due to their high prices and poor customer service.
