How far from edge of rack to size leaders?

How far from edge of rack to size leaders?
Hi Everyone,
Me again.. another question...
How much space should I leave on the rail between the edge of the rack and the edge of my leader? Probably overthinking but if someone could let me know that would be great. An inch or two?

no way would I leave 3 inches on each side I am sure mine are not more than an inch for sure less than 2 But your machine will only reach so far. So I guess they really dont need to go much further than the machine will reach Just remember that your backs will be 3 or more inches bigger on each side than the quilt top. Now is that as clear as mud or what
