I just got EQ6 a week or so ago. I have been going thru the training in the users manual, bought the four companion books to go with it.
I bought mine at JoAnn.com, it was on sale for $125 with free shipping.
The books I bought from Amazon.
DH has been in the hospital since 6/22 so I loaded it on the lap top & my desk top at home and play with it every chance I get.

I wish that I could say I have only lost one day playing with mine   I use it a lot for designing blocks, making templates and paperpieced blocks from other patterns....it was worth every penny  8)

You can find classes at quiltuniversity.com, all experience levels too, including beginners for EQ 6. I've taken one of them, and was pleasantly surprised. Cost is quite reasonable, too.

Just keep working with it. I can lose hours at a time on it.

For me it will save money on books. I have these quilting books and I make one quilt out of them and then they sit (cause who wants to make two quilts the same).

It is pretty logically especially if you are used to working with function keys. I learned on Lotus 123 (does that tell you how old I am?) so I am used to those keys.

I have dinked around with it and have created two quilts and now I am going through the lesson plan now which is so full of information that I am never going to remember everything it does.

I can't wait to really play with it and learn what it does.

I just got my EQ6 last week and have been studying the manual and completing the exercises. I can't wait to get to the part where I can design my own quilts...I have several ideas in my head, but since I spent the $s, I feel I ought to learn it inside and out :)
So far, I'm quite intrigued and have NO buyers' remorse.
