I am always on the look out for tote / purse / bag patterns and love it when they are free. www.pellonprojects.com has some good patterns. Look for the Big Bucket Tote. www.allfreesewing.com has The Fat Quarter Bag. Look at the Tonga Sugar Beach Kit Tutorial by Janae King at https://ttfabrics.com/tonga-sugar-be...by-janae-king/ And Craftsy is a great place to find downloadable free patterns. Look for the So Long Suitcase Bag.

I would also measure the quilt and then look for bag that would be just a bit bigger. Depending on the occasion, you could make a bag to match OR use birthday etc fabric. You wouldn't want a bag that was overly big. I'm thinking about how much tissue paper would be stuffed in the top, LOL.

I think a pillowcase type bag with a zipper on one end would be a great giftbag for a quilt

Thanks IBQUiltin, I thinks that a good idea putting a zipper in or or I could make a cushion cover, fold the quilt up and stuff it in and put a bow on it with a card....oh thank you thank you to everyone as you have gotten my creativity juices working again........yeppy..........

This is great idea, never thought of doing that, but I will now.
