WalMart within 10 miles. Joannes in Tallahassee around 45 miles. I have heard that the only LQS in Tallahassee is going to close within the next 30-60 days.

My LQS is an hour or so away (55 miles one way) I usually shop there - if I drive another 30 miles - there is a Joann's and another small LQS.

My closest LQS is about an hour away. Joann's is about 2.5 hours in another direction.

We have 4 quilt shops...one opened very recently...also Joannes, Hancocks, and a couple of sewing stores that have some fabric, and within 30 miles, there are 4 other shops.

Here?? none!! We've only got W/M, but about 50 or so miles away there are many, and if you go the other way there are even more, but it's 90 or so miles away. :(

I have 1 LQS within 4 miles. We travel alot to the Hill Country on a regular basis so I hit them all between Cypress and Kerrville, Tx at least 4 times a year.

NOT one...25 miles south is one that I rarely visit due to the cost and bad attitudes, and then there is a small one about 30 miles West that is again, costly and small, so no big selection to work with.

Other than that..it is online or 2 hours to OKcity, 2 hours to Wichita or 2 hours to TUlsa!

I feel really lucky. I have 3 Hobby Lobbys, 3 JoAnns, Hancocks and 2 LQS within 5-7 miles. I have about 4 LQS within 10 miles. No wonder I have so much stach.

    Hmm,
    Walmart - 10 min
    Fabricland - 2 within 15 min away
Lens Mill Store (discount store) - 15 min away
Decent Quilt shops within an hour's drive - 8 to 10
    I am a lucky gal.

25 miles to Chattanooga where there is a wonderful quilt shop - Lavender Lime Quilting - and a new Joanne's. Another 15 miles toward Atlanta there is also a quilt shop called Sew-Bee-It. There is a really poor excuse for fabric Hancocks in Chattanooga but it is really the pits! Unfriendly personnel and more home dec stuff than needed!

Oh yes, a couple of Hobby Lobby stores in Chattanooga as well. Our local Wal-Mart discontinued their fabric last fall and I doubt they will ever bring more than the pre-cut stuff back.
