I am very blessed to have 2 LQS within walking distance from my house, 2 more within 7 miles, and several more all within an hours drive.

Here in KS we are blessed with many, many quilters and quilt shops. Our shop hop in Wichita inclues 10 shops, although some are an hour away. There are 5 close by that I visit. Our guild is almost 1000 members, last I heard.

I live in the county so driving is a given. 15-17 miles in different direction are 2 LQS, a joannes and walmart. in 25+ miles I have another Joannes, hancocks and g-street fabrics. Depends on my mood where I go....

I have two LQS about 12-15 miles away and a Hancocks about 30 miles. I promote my LQS and shop close to home. Seldom go to the Hancocks, every couple of years if I need to stock up on Kona solids I'll go when they have a summmer sale.

We have 5 LQS within about 20 miles( one in one city in one direction and the rest in the other city the other direction), another LQS within 40 miles, Also, Hancock fabrics with 20 miles, and Hobbly Lobby and Walmart with fabrics about 25 miles, and then another LQS about 60 miles South, and my favorite LQS about 80 miles South west.

My closest LQS is over an hour away. (I live in the mountains.) Some of the shops I like best are almost 2 hours away! I've figured out that is probably why I tend to buy kits- because if I run out of a fabric- or need to add something- it's a major trip to get more. Since I'm fairly new to quilting, my stash is still rather small. When I'm around a good quilt shop, DH has learned the purchase will be large because it may be months before I get to another shop.

I don't have anything too close now. Last LQS closed. I have 1 fabric store that is about 25 miles from me; Joann's is about 50 miles east and and Hancock is about 45 miles west. Closest Walmart with fabric is about 25 miles.
