Fortunate to have 3 good LQS within 2-10 mi. and at least a dozen or more shops all around Houston within a 30-45 min drive. We also have 2 HL nearby and a new JoAnn's superstore in Sugar Land opening in March :)

I have a LQS within about a mile from me. Then JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby across town which is about 5 miles. Our Walmarts no longer have fabric and I really miss that as they had some nice stuff.

We have a new LQS which just opened in New Smyrna Beach, about 10 miles from where I live. Was just there again this morning. She has beautiful fabrics. It's a great store. Other than that, we have JoAnn's and HL about 30 minutes from here and a LQS south about 30 minutes.

In the small town of Mena, Arkansas we only have walmart with fabric (not much to choose from). The closest fabric store or quilt shop would be in Hot Springs or Fort Smith and they are about 87 miles away. Yuck. I either have to suffice with walmart or order online from one of the quilting companies such a Keepsake quilting or Connecting Threads. Jeanniebelle

Well, in my town, it is only 15 miles across! But in that I have a JoAnn, Two quilt stores, a Walmart. Two Bead stores. and two scrapbooking stores..no I don't scrapbook, but they sometimes have unusal trims that I can use. North an hour, a larger town has 3 quilt stores, a Hancock's, Joann, and several bead stores. Then there's always the internet!!!!

There is one quilt shop in town but I seldom go there because my knees make doing steps difficult and there are steps going up to the shop.
There is a Hancocks in town but I would rather have a root canal withot anesthesia than to go in there.
The next closest LQS is a darling little shop about 40" away and another nice shop about an hr and a half away.
The next option is to make it a day trip and travel across the Chesapeake Bay where there are many good options.

We are lucky to have two LQS's in our small town, Hobby Lobby and Joannes are about fifteen minutes away and we also one of our local Walmarts that still carries fabric and Michaels has started to carry fabric here.

I have 1 shop about 1m drive, 1 about 45 min drive and 1 in NYC about 15 miles that takes 1 1/2 hours to get to because I have to take the train and the Path train then walk 2 blocks. I love going there.
