How Many Quilts Do You Make?
#4
Too many, according to my hubby! Dozens in the past few years I guess. Lots of baby quilts, lots of quilts for gifts and a few for me. I tend to make easy patterns with busy fabrics so they look more difficult than they are. After I get caught up on the ones I've got going, I'd like to make fewer, but try some more complex patterns, such as NY Beauty or other fancy paper pieced quilts.

I made 19 my first year (which was last year), 4 of those were super queen size - the others were lap/throw.
I've made 2 this year (one is my first paper pieced), have 2 more 80+% done.
Saying this, I do have my quilts LAQ'ed which gives me the creative time for the tops
IF I didn't have to do the daily 8-5 grind, I could easily see me doing a quilt in just a few days, maybe a week at tops. I do kind of keep track of how much time I've spent on a top - the most is 62 hours, 2nd to that is 40-41 ish for the paper pieced.
It's all in perspective!!!

It depends on the size and the complexity of your quilts but it sounds like a lot to me too. I work in spurts and I have tons of UFOs. Can't say how many I have made but probably 2 a year or so which does not include small donation quilts.

I started in 2009 and have made about 2 dozen quilts, plus many sewing projects as they caught my attention. But, last year I only made 2 of those quilts and a small shawl. I just piece the tops and send the quilts to a local quilt club buddy who has a computerized long-arm. She makes my beginner quilts beautiful! I couldn't do it without her!
Oops! I forgot to add that the 2 last year were t-shirt quilts for my grandson. They were hard, but he seemed to like them both.

I give away at least half the quilts I make, and sell a (very) few on etsy.
