The only smaller quilts I have made was for Quilt for Kids. They don't want bigger ones. I usually make bigger quilts.

Depends on who the quilt is for. Usually queen but have made a couple of king (120 x 120). I like to make queen because they are so much easier to handle. I don't usually make lap size but do make wall hangings. I guess the size depends on the need.

Mine vary according to whom it is for.... crib sized, twin, double, queen but never a king YET. No one in my realm has a kingsized bed... but have made all queens for my married nieces and nephews.. they love them. Babys love their cuddly fleeced and flannel backed quilts - When they all smile, I smile too -

Has anyone else noticed that nowadays patterns are usually for a throw size; not more than 60 ins long? I assumed that this was because it was considered about the largest size one could FMQ on a domestic machine. I like the patterns which give me directions for alternate sizes as I, too, make mainly bed quilts.

I've made king-size on down to mini. I do make a lot of big throws, and queen-size quilts. :)

I started out small, but have gone towards King, starting with one for my MIL and one for us.

I started with a king size. I've done several queen size and lap size. I've recently started doing wall hangings and table toppers because they are fun and quick. Table toppers and placemats are a great place to use practice and orphan blocks, and they are a quick way to feel like you've accomplished something.
