So when I say "I" quilt them, it's really the computer, but I still have to line up the pattern etc.

One of these days I will get the courage to try and free hand something. But I need to get some muslin and practice, practice, practice! :)

You certainly have become quite a quilter in only 9 months? What is a Q-Bot?

I like seeing the process from beginning to end. Just the way I am though. :)

I enjoy most aspects of the quilt making process, but when I finally get to the binding, well....I'm almost home!!
I do a lot of hand quilting and SITD, and would love to be able to quit fearing free motion, but I'm such a chicken. I've done some but am not pleased with the outcome, so I go back to SITD. I do mostly baby/lap size quilts and mini's. I love applique and will not send out an applique that I've put so much time into. Those I'll do myself.

I quilt some and some I send to the LAQ, depends on the quilt and my time. I have a Viking MegaQuilter in a table and I can handle throw quilts & twin szs well. Used to hand quilt a lot years ago, but it's all machine now ... just not enough time ! :)

Never lower the feed dogs if you're using the walking foot ! You lower the feed dogs when you are free-motion quilting (freehand designs)

I love everything about the quilt prosesse. My first 2 quilts hand pieced, one lap and one king, my mom is going to quilt the king for me but the lap was a scrappy rail fence with a basket weave, on each strip was a different quilt design, I even quilted hats with a feather in it. The reciver was a queen in her red hat. Im not real good at quilting but I want to learn so bad I do my own and make up designs all the time and draw them and try to follow as best i can. Thank God for all you who longarm you do amazing work, that would be my dream, to longarm myself and creat really cool designs like I have seen on the board.

You are very fortunate to have a husband who loves to quilt and cut out. Mine cut out one quilt and did a far better job than I do, but now I can't convince him to do it again but he is a dear husband.

I enjoy every aspect of quilting but my favorite part is when I sit and hand quilt in the evening while listening to the TV. with my DH. It is so relaxing and hopefully someday I'll venture out and quilt something more intricate than shadow quilting. They say practice makes perfect. I have a long way to go.
