I love your kites! That is a really cute quilt. A neat idea for a boy quilt, too.

    Hi Marcia

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun using up my scraps on this one. The checkerboard border idea came from my quilt group. I love sharing ideas!

I couldn't find it anywhere on her site for free. Her website has a link to where I can buy it for about $15.
Oh, I see. Those "shop" site links are new.

I think how it works is she does them as a block of the month of mystery quilt and you get the pattern and pieces that way.

    Those are older patterns now.

She still has some free paper piece patterns on her site.

    Sorry about that.

I agree, that would make a perfect bottom border on a flowered quilt and I could vision it on one with neighborhood houses or even one with cows in a pasture. There is a pasture not far from my house that has a picket funsce and cows. It is realy weird but I found out there is also an electric fence to keep the cows in and dogs out. LOL.

OK ladies, no laughing allowed here:
My first attempt at pp, I made this at my 2nd workshop I attended, for my cat Oscar for when he likes to sit on the sofa.
As you can see it still requires quilting & binding etc. Let me know what you think.

Hi Kelly , To answer your questions it has a real simple name paper pieced picket fence . The free pattern is at www.quilterscache.com . Marcia has lots of wonderful patterns ! I read the p p tips and followed them and fabric suggestions for the greens . I didn't have any problem . I haven't tried any of the star patterns yet .

I thought adding flowers would be nice or around animals . I have horse appliques I could use for that . I also have others cows , goats and smelly pigs . Annie
