How much to buy?

I agree with okie about the weight of the fabric. Do you know for a fact that it is heavier cotton fabric for quilting? Sometimes you can't tell in the pictures online and if you make a purchase and are not satisfied with it, will they accept a return and issue you a full refund? I would call the company and ask them how thick the fabric is. If it's too thick I would pass on the purchase. It won't work well if you quilt with it. Keep us informed if you buy from them and what your fabric quality is when you get it home.

Buying over the internet is tricky. You don't know the quality of your fabric. (Here I want to mention, Keepsake Quilting, has realy good fabric quality).
Usualy my rule is, if you like it, buy 1 yard. Should you realy like it buy 3 yards.

If you want it to be a "feature fabric" (which to me is): If I LOVE it - I'll buy from 3 to 6 yards. If I'm just going to use it as stash building, I will get anything from a FQ to one or two yards. It depends a lot on how many things it may work with, how good it's priced, what the quality is like.
At that price, I'd make sure it's got a decent quality. Don't build a stash of real thin material.
