I usually buy 2 yards, unless its a really good sale, then I'll buy enough to cover any back and front and binding. tee hee

Depends on the fabric. If I love it 3 yards. If I like it and know I need the color 1 to 2 depending on color, price, etc. What I will not buy anymore are fat quarters. My mom is famous for buying a fat quarter of a fabric she loves and three years later wanting yardage of it. If you like it buy it I have told her!!!!!!

If I'm in love with it, at least 3 yards. If I'm really, really fond of it, then 2 yards. If I like it a lot but don't know what to do with it, 1 yard.

Then I might go home and fret about whether I should have gotten more of any of them!

I try to buy at least 6-8 yards and sometimes more, I will buy 10 yards for backgrounds and for backing fabrics. I use to buy lots of remnants, I will use them in scrappy and I will be doing lots of them.

I usually buy 2 yards, more if it's something I really really love. I've stopped buying FQs-there's never enough fabric to do more than a block or two then I have to go back to the fabric store (darn!) and try to match it and then I buy other fabric--Oh wait--that's fun LOL!!

If it is a really great price & I know I will use it, I buy a LOT of it...Like the bolt. If I really do just love it, I will buy 5-6 yds. If I just like it, I buy 3 yds.

1 yard if I like it
2 yards if it calls to me
3 yards if it screams at me to buy it
4+ yards if it screams at me and is on sale.

Looking at my stash a lot of fabric screams at me.
