I'm with you! I do have 2 totes of fabric and even with that small(?) amount I've made at least 10 baby quilts from it. Only had to buy batting.

No way! I love fabric, but the thought of cutting up 3000 yards of fabrics gives me the hives. I have just started cutting up the fabric for my first quilt in 30 years. I now know why 5"charm kits are so "charming."

I have been collecting fabric for years. I did get rid of everything in 1980 when we moved to Hawaii. But when we came back I started over. I have never counted how many yards I have, that would be scary. And it is not all quilting fabric. I have a bit of everything.

I have told my daughters that when I die or they put me in a home, to sell it all and then take everyone on a Disney cruise. One of my son in laws think I am crazy and that the money should go towards a college fund for the grands, but that is just not how I am. I think the money should go towards having fun and celebrating what I love.

it really does not take much to find out you have more fabric than you think you do, I have modest fabric collection and must have at least 1000 yards, more than enough for several quilts!

I have been a "lurker" for about 2 yrs enjoying this forum.

I had a house fire last May and while inventoring everything in the house, I measured 686 yards of cotton!!
and 883 spools of various threads.
I also lost 4 sewing machines, one of which was a longarm
    cry:

I'm in my house now without even scraps for potholders. I'm going shopping soon

Neither my mind nor my budget could ever accommodate a stash like that, much less a purchase. You are so blessed to be able to acquire that, so use it well and make people happy :)

I agree with Sadiemae - sounds like you'd have a great stash for a play-date!!! Enjoy! I, personally, am afraid to do an actual inventory of what I have on hand....I'd end up on that TV show about hoarders!
