How much fabric do you really have???

I thought my 5 tubs was too much...after reading this post I realize mine is not bad at all. I could see a professional quilter having that much. But buying so much in such a short time is excessive. It takes all the fun out of what to buy in the future. Sometimes a buying addiction is just masking another problem.

I have about 2500 yards of fabric or more. I don't have any room to make it any bigger then that. When I sew a quilt I will replace the fabric that I used. When I inherited my Mom's stash after she passed away it took me a year and a half to sell and donate the fabric. I washed all the fabric and it took me 5 months to wash all of it. My sister is giving me her fabric as she quit quilting and she is bringing it to me this summer. My husband is thinking of building me a storage shed or just move to a 3 bedroom duplex so I have my own sewing room.

Well after reading how much some of you have, I do not feel so guilty anymore about having more than I will ever live long enuf to use.
I do have 12 small quilts ready to go to the church. But that hardly put a dent in my stach. :)

I have a good stash but not close to what you have--good for you. I tend to always purchase reds, blacks, blues & creams. Can't decide whether it's best to buy kits but at least when you're ready to start a project everything is there.
