Yup, just as much as you can afford. Build that stash! It never hurts to buy an extra yard or two of each fabric when making a bargello. If a cutting mistake happens, you don't have to try to get back to the store before it's sold out and if no mistakes happen, STASH. Just ask us, we know all about running out of a needed fabric.

my queen sized bargello had 20 different colours and I needed 1/2 a yard of each colour. I don't have much left.

I buy lots of most all my fabrics, then I should have enough to make about anything I want to make. Smaller amounts I use for scrappy quilts.

Thanks for any help you can give this newbie quilter.
Go to Home page and at the bottom is the bargello tute. I am in the middle of making mine. Barb is very good about answering any question you may have.

Fix your favorite beverage, pull your shoes off, kick the recliner back and get comfortable.
Now put bargello in the search field and hit enter.
You will make yourself wild looking at all the bargello's that have been posted.
If you feel your arm getting wet, it is me looking over your shoulder drooling. I think they are so beautiful. I can't wait to make one and won't even read the directions yet because I have some things to finish up first. One member made a bergello for her first quilt. It was awesome. I can't wait to see yours. Yep, that is me drooling.
