the first quilt i paid to have quilted was a king, it cost me $385...and i provided the top, back and batting! it was charged by the square inch. if they are providing the backing and batting i say that price is fantastic! i charge less than that to do the quilting but if i had to provide the batting and backing i would probably have to charge a bit more than that.

This sounds like a pretty average charge :D:D:D

    Thanks
I had one quilted (90x94) all overall pattern with a separate border design -
My quilter provided batting and backing and machine stitched binding to top of quilt.

    She charged me $176

I think it all depends on the market you are in, the fabric and batting that will be provided, etc. The costs can vary wildly from area to area.

If you were in my area that would be the deal of the century...... There is only one here that I know of and if you provide backing, batting and thread the actual quilting starts at around $60 for a crib quilt.

I met a long arm quilter at my weight watchers group, she said she'd give me a good price. $.02 per sq inch. I'm providing the thread, 19.95 = s&h, and batting ( 2 qn size $49.90 =s&h; it'll be 278.20 for a 107x130 quilt. I'm counting myself lucky as prices range from $.04 per sq. in to $.06 in the Denver area, PLUS, she'll finish it in October! It's worth it to me this time, this'll be my first professionally quilted quilt. I don't care to machine quilt , I'll hand quilt or tie

$225 sounds pretty fair to me too. Alot depends on how long the person has been quilting and how you want it quilted. Some quilters are so busy they can get top dollar for their work here.

Thanka everyone, I did send it out of state to be quilted (it was the best deal than one in a nearby town). I will post pictures when I get it back.
