The way I like to look at it is:
if 21.3 million quilters spent 3600 million dollars then,
    1 quilter spent 169.00$ in a year. That's perfect.
It is cheap then.. Keep on quilting loll

I agree - it must be a man who wrote the article! The PGA course in PSL has a "winter" rate to play over $100 - for just 18 holes!!! AND - the game is over in about 4 hours. I bet all of us have held on to fabric for years - waiting for the perfect place to use it!

    SO TRUE!

Included in that price, I'm sure is the cost of the sewing machines and the quilting machines, not just the fabric. I've read on this post about the "featherweight" antique machines that the girls all seem to love. That just goes to show you that a good sewing machine will last practically generations! It all evens out, I'm sure. And really, who's counting?

Candi.. your right..once a person has their fishing items, it is a very cheap sport. We both summer fish all the time, and we only spend $15.00 for a entire summer worth of bait. Now his ice fishing bait is $5.00 each weekend. Still not as bad as my fabric. But as I told my husband.. what do we get out of his fishing.. we eat it..can gain weight..then need to buy new clothes.. ha ha ha ...mine will warm him up after freezing outside ice fishing.. ha ha ha ..he had to agree.
