I can't answer your question on charging but I used Roolen's method of making a Hunter's Star quilt & found it to be very easy. She has a translation conversion at the right side of the page.

Thanks so much, I don't even really know this gal, she's a friend of a friend of mine. I don't really want to make another, as mine was all PP and took a long time to do. This quilt is a lot of work, I love mine but not sure I really want to do another.

Always, always, always get some money up front. That way they will be committed.

Call her back and say I have thought about your request for me to make a quilt for your but after thinking about it I decided I can't do it. Do not give any reason or excuse why. Trust me on this. I use to give every excuse in the book when a friend of a friend would ask for me to make a quilt. They kept on finding solutions for my excuses! Now I say 'I don't do that' when asked. Conversation over.

    I sent you at PM.

Also I like the idea of getting things in writing. You would not be plagued with she said, I said.

If you really don't want to do it, I totally agree with this. It is okay to say no. I do it all the time. People still like me.

Good for you. Life is too short to spend time doing things you don't want to do. If I could turn the clock back I would say NO a lot oftener.

I really don't have the time, doing things like this leaves less time to do the things you want to work on.
