How my DH got me to stop buying fabric...without even trying

If you're like me you may hesitate because a better sale, bargain, or nicer book or fabric just might come along next week... and you don't want to kick yourself for spending all your money earlier, lol. What a great gift your DH got you. Enjoy!

Ask me how I know?
A few years ago as we were traveling through a town the clerk of a LQS suggested I enter their drawing. They notitified me 3 days later that I had won their Grand Prize Door Prize. When we were traveling back through that town, I was given a bag with a quilting kit in it, some other quilting goodies and a $100 gift certificate. Wanting not to spend one penny of it on shipping costs, I had to make a lot of decisions in a short amount of time. That was sewwww hard to do.
I know how you feel. With half of it why don't you buy what you wouldn't buy because of the cost and with the other half buy as you normally do, frugally.
At any rate, have fun. What you buy will be a treasure to you. :-D

When I get money as a gift - I think the most fun is deciding where/when to spend it. Like others have said - it's like looking in a Christmas catalog - O the excitement. Sometimes I 'spend' my money several times B/4 I actully let it go. It's fun.

This is funny. I will have to show it to my husband. He will get a good laugh (and maybe an idea or two LOL). I think I would wait and get something I really wanted. Sale fabrics are great for building a stash or filling in when you need a little contrast or extra fabric. But I find that I really use fabric that I love on sight. Enjoy your gift certificate!

He's asked me several times if I've spent it yet, and is shocked that I haven't. I have filled up a shopping cart several times with clearance fabric, but just can't commit...I'm frozen with indecision. Do I spend it on clearance fabric, or do I wait and get something I really, really want (like the batiks, but only if they go on sale)?? He thinks it's pretty funny, and says he would have done this a long time ago if he knew it would make me quit buying fabric!

Why is it we can always find a million things to purchase when the funds are low, but when we're given carte blanche, we can't make up our minds??? I'm the same with with purchasing clothing! Fabrics are even worse!
