That's funny. I, too, want to get the most for my money and it's tough making that decision. Have fun.

My DH told me to go out and buy what I wanted for my birthday. I would really like to buy a LA but I do not think that is what he meant.( Do not want to give him a heart attach) Next week off to my LQS to spend "his " money!! ( I do get birthday month discount at that LQS)

I did the same thing with a gift card from a really expensive store that had a spa. I kept waiting for a "special" occasion to use it for a manicure. The special occasion would pass and it took me 4-5 years to use it. But when I did--it was like "found" cash and did I enjoy it.

I like to use gift cards for something special. Money is tight now so a gift card is for indulgence.

This one made me chuckle. Many years ago, my DH gave his credit card to our two daughters and told them to "buy a Christmas gift for Mama." Well they headed straight to the sewing center and purchased one of those L-shaped sewing tables with place for two machines. Almost 800 dollars! When they brought the receipt to him he nearly collapsed! After that, he told them how much to spend. I love my table!!

Well, ordinarily, without the gift certificate, I would have gone right ahead and bought all the clearance fabric I wanted just cause it was such a great buy, and then bought the stuff I really wanted when it went on sale. Now...I can't buy anything! Why is that?
I think because it was a gift that you want to spend it wisely.
