My wonderful husband surprised me with a gift certificate to Connecting Threads. This was on Christmas...
He's asked me several times if I've spent it yet, and is shocked that I haven't. I have filled up a shopping cart several times with clearance fabric, but just can't commit...I'm frozen with indecision. Do I spend it on clearance fabric, or do I wait and get something I really, really want (like the batiks, but only if they go on sale)?? He thinks it's pretty funny, and says he would have done this a long time ago if he knew it would make me quit buying fabric!

Well, ordinarily, without the gift certificate, I would have gone right ahead and bought all the clearance fabric I wanted just cause it was such a great buy, and then bought the stuff I really wanted when it went on sale. Now...I can't buy anything! Why is that?

I wish I were more like that... got two fabric gift cards for Christmas, one is spent, one is partly spent, and every day I have to talk myself out of going to spend the balance. It's for Joanns, and they just had a big sale. I'm trying to use up stash and hold the card for something I absolutely need. I doubt I'll last much longer, though...

I got 3 gift cards for Christmas - 2 for my LQS & 1 for Joanns. I already used the Joanns card to buy an Ottlite. Used the smaller of the LQS to sign up for a Machine Quilting class. I'm saving the larger LQS for materials to make something for me. Don't know yet what that "something" will be. Just know that since every other quilt I've made so far except one, have been given away, I'm using this gift card for a quilt or wall hanging to keep.
