Dated to around 1930. So...80 years old. What do I win? :>
Lost my oldest fabrics in a move many years ago, but I wanted to thank you for the info shared. Even with all the internet surfing we can't find all the sites in our lifetime. This one was very interesting.

My oldest fabric (that I purchased new) is still a box for my BiCentennial quilt and purchased in 1973.

I have fabric from the early 40s. So that's close to 70 years old.

1967, when I bought my first machine, a 1950's era "portable" Singer. Still have the fabric and the machine!

I have one medium piece of drapery fabric that was from the 1800's. It came from my great grandma, then my Grandma had it in her stash and when my Mom passed away I ended up with it. I have put it under glass and had it sealed so no air gets to it. Cost quite a bit to do that. I have past it down to my daughter now she has promised to keep it till it is passed on to her daughter.

Deborah reminded me of a piece of upholestery fabric that I have in a picture frame hanging in my home. This hung in my grandparents house for as long as I can remember. Years after my DGP died and my DGM was moving into a convelescent home my Dad and his siblings were gonna throw it away and I just about had a fit that they all thought of it as trash.I dug it out of the trash and brought it home, it is still in the same frame they had it in. I have no idea how old it is.

Wow that it a very nice tapistry and it is very old. You should have it appraised. It seems to be in really good shape. I use to collect and sell a lot of antiques on Ebay and learned a lot. Old tapistries when you can find them they pay $$$ !!!

Where would I get it appraised at??? I have no intention of getting rid of it but it would be nice to know the age of it. I am hoping to make it a family airloom (is that the right word or spelling?). My kids already know they are not allowed to get rid of it or I will come back an haunt them. LOL

I could do search for you and at least find out how old it is for you. I do kind of know how old it is but want to be sure.
