Okay.......... believe it or not........ my oldest UFO is an easy 20 years. I've been working off and on for that long on a yo-yo quilt. Each little piece comes from my mother's scrap basket........ and she's been with the angels now for 15 years. I am seeing the light at the end of this looooonnnggg project, and it will be worth it !! There will be over 2500 yo-yos in this quilt. If someone would have told me years and years ago that it would take me this long to complete this project I would have told them they were CRAZY !!! Obviously, I haven't worked on it very consistantly.... hoping to complete it by the end of this year.

I just dug a few UFOs out of the attic that were among my very first little projects- 15 years old, or so. I was 17 when I started.

My oldest UFO was a quilt that I was making for my daughters crib. She's 31 and I finally finished it last year.

probably about 20 years. I have an unfinished one I'm just getting to that was something my mother started about 1940 or so. I'm repairing it and finishing it.

I took a class to do a double wedding ring quilt waaaay back in 1990. I uncovered it recently when I was doing some cleaning and finally threw it out. I couldn't get the pieces to line up and knew that I would never finish it. It actually felt good to throw it out so it wouldn't be niggling at me. Now I can attack more recent UFO's!!

 About 10 years old. First pieced quilt I made when I was teaching myself how to quilt. It is king size, and the pieces are a combination of 100% cotton and polyester cotton. All the Dresden Plates are poly-cotton; but sashing and plate backgrounds, cornerstones with appliqued hearts and the backing are cotton. I just lost incentive when I learned that combining 100% cotton and poly together in a quilt rarely results in a pretty quilt. What makes it even sadder is the fact that the top is done, the quilt is sandwiched, and did a "ton" of hand-quilting on it before I lost my incentive.

Let's see... I started a quilt for my mom back in 1998. That makes my oldest UFO-13 years old. (As old as my middle son.)  I had her pick the pattern (Rose of Sharon). NOT realizing how much machine applique is involved. Now she jokes that when she passes, I can put the quilt in with her (fininshed or not). I only have 10 blocks to finish appliqueing. Then I can start the assembly line.   PLEASE PRAY FOR ME & A LITTLE LUCK NEVER HURT EITHER....

Thanks for letting me share. I really need to get working on that quilt soon......
